Gunung Api Purba Nglanggeran, Patuk, Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta

Gunung Sewu - UNESCO Global Geopark is a landscape spread over 3 districts. Those are Gunungkidul, Wonogiri and Pacitan. Gunungkidul Regency is a part of Gunung Sewu - UNESCO Global Geopark area. This predicate was awarded by UNESCO in September 2015 as recognition of the geological, ecological, economic and socio-cultural conditions in the region. Gunung Sewu - UNESCO Global Geopark consists of 33 geo sites, 13 of them are spread in the district of Gunungkidul, one of them is Nglanggeran Ancient Volcano.

Nglanggeran ancient volcano is a part of ecotourism Nglanggeran, Patuk, Gunungkidul. Tourist can find this area about 1 hour from Yogyakarta. This area has many kinds of attractions such as out bounding, camping, cultural & ritual tours, rock climbing, rock research, agriculture and forestry, organization/group vacations, culinary and crafts. For tourists who want to follow the live in package, they offer some homestays. Gunung Sewu UNESCO Global Geopark merupakan bentang alam yang tersebar di 3 kabupaten yaitu Kabupaten Gunungkidul, Wonogiri dan Pacitan. Kabupaten Gunungkidul merupakan bagian dari kawasan Gunungsewu UNESCO Global Geopark. Predikat diberikan oleh UNESCO pada bulan September 2015, sebagai pengakuan terhadap kondisi geologi, ekologi, ekonomi dan sosial budaya di kawasan ini. Gunungsewu UNESCO Global Geopark terdiri dari 33 geo site, 13 diantaranya tersebar di wilayah Kabupaten Gunungkidul, salah satu diantaranya yaitu Gunung Api Purba Nglanggeran.

Gunung Api Purba Nglanggeran merupakan bagian kawasan ekowisata Nglanggeran, Patuk, Gunungkidul. Jarak tempuhnya dari pusat kota Yogyakarta sekitar 1 jam.
